The major October 2025 update added a significant number of new parts to Screw Drivers. Some parts were additions to existing categories, while others introduced entirely new mechanics like chains and the gear holder. This page catalogs every new part and explains how to use them.

New parts: chains

Chains are a flexible power transmission component that wraps around two or more gears to transfer rotation. They were added as a way to transmit power across long distances or around obstacles without using a rigid axle.

Chains work like this: place the chain between two gears that you want to connect. The chain wraps around both gears and transfers rotation through friction. The direction of rotation reverses between the two gears, similar to a bicycle drivetrain.

Chains are best for low-to-medium torque applications. Under heavy load they can slip. Use rigid axles for high-torque sections and chains for routing around obstacles or connecting distant components.

New parts: gear holder dynamic

The gear holder dynamic is a new type of gear shifter added with the October update. It uses two gears with round center holes (so they do not spin when attached to an axle) and a sliding gear holder that selects which gear to engage.

In practice, this means you can build a two-state shifter that does not require a complex mechanical link. The gear holder dynamic slides between two positions, engaging either the left or right gear. This gives you a 2-step shifter in a much more compact package than the standard gear shifter.

The gear holder dynamic works best for small vehicles where space is at a premium. Full-sized racers can still use the traditional 3-step gear shift for more flexibility.

New parts: round-hole gears

Two new gears with round center holes were added alongside the gear holder dynamic. These gears do not spin when attached to a standard axle — they need the gear holder to drive them.

The round-hole gears are auxiliary components. They exist specifically to give the gear holder dynamic something to engage. You typically pair them with the gear holder dynamic, not on their own.

New parts: gear holders

Two new gear holder parts were added. The standard gear holder attaches beside a round-hole gear and drives it through the axle. The dynamic gear holder is the sliding version that selects between two positions.

Gear holders are essential for the new shifter mechanic. If you are building a transmission that uses round-hole gears, you need at least one gear holder for each.

New parts: suspensions

The October update added six new suspensions — three off-road and three racing. They are larger than the previous suspension options and have different attachment points, which means they look and behave differently in builds.

Offroad suspensions

The three new offroad suspensions are designed for rough terrain. They have longer travel than the previous offroad options, which means the wheels can move further up and down before the suspension bottoms out. This is essential for absorbing large bumps on the Offroad Island.

Racing suspensions

The three new racing suspensions are designed for paved tracks. They have stiffer settings and shorter travel than the offroad options, which gives a more responsive feel on smooth surfaces.

Configuring suspensions

All suspensions in the game (new and old) can now be configured. You can adjust the spring strength, damper strength, and the progressiveness of the spring. These settings let you fine-tune how the suspension responds to bumps.

Soft spring with light damper is comfortable but bouncy. Stiff spring with heavy damper is responsive but harsh. For most builds, a balanced setting around the middle of each range works well. Adjust based on your driving style and the track you are racing on.

New parts: wheels

Four new wheels were added in the October update.

Oldie Wheel

The Oldie Wheel has a vintage look that matches retro-style vehicles. It has similar grip and weight to other street wheels. Use it for themed builds where you want a specific aesthetic.

Racer Wheel

The Racer Wheel is a new dedicated racing wheel. It has slightly better grip than the existing racing wheel options, but it is also slightly heavier. Use it on tracks where you can afford the extra weight for the better grip.

Buggy Wheel

The Buggy Wheel is designed for off-road buggies. It has good grip on dirt and gravel while remaining relatively lightweight. Use it on the Offroad Island or any other rough terrain map.

Dirt Wheel 4

The Dirt Wheel 4 is the largest dirt wheel in the game. It dominates on loose surfaces and absorbs jumps well. The weight is significant, so use it on vehicles that can handle the extra mass.

v1.0 parts (August 20, 2026)

The full launch filled roughly thirty missing tech-tree entries and added mechanical blocks that change how you launch, not just how you look.

XR - Thrust 2010

A large two-stroke combustion engine. It is heavier than the Electrix starters and lives in the same design space as other big combustion mills: put it low, keep the clutch in the torque path, and do not expect a tiny 2-step to absorb the hit without slip. Clutch

The clutch lets the engine slip at low RPM so it does not bog on launch. Use it on high-torque first gears, dirt starts, and any box that used to stall when you dumped the throttle. Save clutch-plus-engine as a blueprint once the slip feels right. It is not a substitute for a sane ratio; it is a launch aid.

TCS Block

Traction control with a 0–100% strength slider. Dial wheelspin instead of hoping the tire compound saves you. High TCS on tarmac can feel planted and slow. Low TCS on Dirt Wheel 4 lets you break the rear loose on Offroad Island. Copy the property onto every driven corner after you find a number you like (copy/paste for part properties shipped in November 2025).

Wooden panels and chain UI

Decorative wooden panels fill bodywork without adding a new drivetrain rule. The chain tool now has an introduction, a placement side panel, and a warning when two sprockets are not on the same plane. That warning is the difference between a clean wrap and a floating chain from the October beta. Read Chains before you ignore it.

How to find new parts

The new parts are unlocked through the tech tree. Most are gated behind specific achievements or challenge completions. Some parts require you to defeat certain Monarchs or reach specific levels on the driver’s license.

If a part does not appear in your build menu, check the tech tree to see what you need to do to unlock it. The conditions are sometimes buggy and may show incorrect information, so try the most likely unlock action first.
